Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov commented on the statement of Czech President Petr Pavel that not only Prague, but the entire NATO bloc is preparing for a potential high-intensity conflict in Europe.
“There are a lot of hysterical statements coming from Prague,” Peskov noted in an interview with television journalist Pavel Zarubin, adding that they have come from the last year or even several years.
According to the head of the Kremlin press service, such hysterical sentiments “do not paint the leadership of the Czech Republic well.” Peskov noted that this is rather “their problem, not ours.”
Let us recall that Peter Pavel made a statement at a press conference of the heads of the Visegrad Four. He noted that Russia is considered by NATO “as the number one threat in Europe.” At the same time, Pavel emphasized that the alliance does not want such a development of events and this is more of a warning than something that is sure to happen.
