Peskov called the severance of ties with fellow Ukrainians the price for security

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that for the sake of the safety of the younger generation, one has to pay by breaking ties with Ukrainian friends.
He noted that his wife is practically Ukrainian (Olympic champion Tatyana Navka, who was born in Dnepropetrovsk, – Ed.). “And her childhood friends – they are there, in Ukraine. And now her relations with them have deteriorated,” said the head of the Kremlin press service. He added that his wife is madly worried about this and this is a real tragedy.
“But this is the price we need to pay,” Peskov continued, stressing that all this “needs to endure” and “finish what has been started” in order to secure the future of “that very young generation.”
He also said in an interview with RBC TV that in his inner circle there are very heated debates about the fate of Russia, and he agrees with some, but not with others.
