Press Secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that the improvement of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) forecast for Russia’s GDP is “not without interest.” Earlier, the IMF published a report in which it predicted the growth of the Russian economy in 2024 by 2.6%.

“This is very interesting information. You see that there is a very large spread in the forecasts of our departments, the Ministry of Economic Development, the Central Bank, and international financial institutions. Therefore, this suggests that, let’s say, the potential for forecasting is now relatively narrowed,” Mr. Peskov said during a press call.

In the January IMF report improved forecast for the growth of the Russian economy in 2024 from 1.1% to 2.6%. The Russian Ministry of Economy said that GDP will grow by 2.3%.
