Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov shamed London for imposing sanctions on the Artek children’s camp. About this, the representative of the Kremlin said TASS.
“If I were British, I would be ashamed,” Peskov said. According to him, the imposition of sanctions against the children’s camp “struck” him. He called it “the height of insanity.”
On July 17, London added 13 people and one organization to its sanctions list. The list includes Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova, Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Moscow Region Ksenia Mishonova, adviser to the head of the DPR on children’s rights Eleonora Fedorenko, and others. The Artek children’s camp was also subject to sanctions. Support for the “forced deportation of Ukrainian children” to Russia was cited as the reason for this decision.
The Russian Foreign Ministry called the British sanctions “a manifestation of naked hypocrisy.” According to the official representative of the department, Maria Zakharova, the ideals of “friendship of children from all over the planet, which underlie the philosophy of this unique children’s camp, apparently do not fit into British pseudo-humanism.”
