Peskov called on the heads of regions to speak less emotionally about the military operation after the words of Kadyrov

The heads of Russian regions have the right to express their point of view on the military operation in Ukraine, but they must exclude emotions, said Dmitry Peskov, the presidential press secretary. This is how he reacted to the words of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, who blamed Colonel-General Alexander Lapin for the loss of Krasny Liman.

The Kremlin spokesman during the press call said that Mr. Kadyrov and all of Chechnya are making a great contribution to the conduct of the military operation. “Heads of regions have the authority to express their point of view, to give assessments. After all, these are the heads of entire regions, including Ramzan Kadyrov,” Peskov explained.

At the same time, he noted that “even in difficult moments, all the same, probably, emotions should be excluded without any assessments.” “We still prefer to adhere to balanced, objective assessments,” Dmitry Peskov emphasized.

To a clarifying question about Ramzan Kadyrov’s proposal to use tactical nuclear weapons in Ukraine, Mr. Peskov replied: “We use nuclear weapons on the basis of what is set out in the relevant doctrine. There can be no other considerations here.”
