Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov said that Russian society “does not accept” cases of insulting veterans of the military operation in Ukraine and their relatives, which are recorded in various regions. According to him, such incidents are “lousy acts.”

“I don’t think any additional calls are needed. [из Кремля]because intolerance for such lousy acts is absolute in society. Of course, such actions are absolutely outrageous, they are unacceptable, and most importantly, they are not accepted by anyone in society, ”said a Kremlin spokesman during a conference call.

Mr. Peskov called those who insult NVO veterans “bad people and scum” who “will and do deserve absolute censure and, where necessary, punishment.” He clarified that Russian President Vladimir Putin, during meetings with ministers, deputy prime ministers and heads of regions, regularly emphasizes the need for “care” on the part of officials about combatants and their relatives.

At the beginning of August, in Zabaikalsky, three young people were cruelly beaten a man with a disability who took part in the fighting in the zone of the special operation. According to local media, the attackers insulted the SVO participant and tore off his awards. The victim himself recorded a video message from the hospital, in which he urged not to lynch the people who attacked him. A few days later, all the participants in the beating were detained and, by a court decision, were taken into custody.
