Dmitry Peskov commented on the reaction of Western media to the interview that Tucker Carlson took with Vladimir Putin. As you know, CNN and Fox News, where Carlson previously worked, decided not to mention him, while other media limited themselves to brief excerpts and quotes.
The Kremlin speaker explained such a restrained reaction and “professional reluctance to publish an interview with Carlson” as a split in the media. “They are strictly divided according to the criteria of support for one party or another, and in addition there is professional jealousy,” Peskov believes.
At the same time, in his opinion, over time, Putin’s interviews will be carefully studied and deeply analyzed.
“No one will argue that there is a high interest in this interview,” the Kremlin speaker noted.
Peskov also admitted that “for Western readers, much of the interview will be difficult to understand.” “But there (in the West) there are specialists in our country who will find this important and interesting,” he noted.
Let us recall that Vladimir Putin devoted 25 minutes of the interview to an excursion into the history of Russia and Ukraine, which he began from the time of Rurik.
Peskov also made it clear that the Kremlin is not very interested in the reaction to Vladimir Putin’s interview abroad. “The most important thing is the reaction of our people,” he emphasized
