Permanent Mission of the Russian Federation: damage to the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant can lead to disaster
The Permanent Mission of Russia to international organizations in Vienna at the International Atomic Energy Agency issued a note calling for attention to what is happening around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant.
In the document, the Russian side urges the IAEA and its members to condemn the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strikes on the plant, since the protection of the Zaporizhia NPP is not designed to withstand direct hits from shells.
“Damage to infrastructure facilities can affect the safe operation of the Zaporozhye NPP and lead to catastrophic consequences,” the Russian permanent mission noted.
