Pentagon Inspector General Robert Storch has been appointed to head a task force designed to monitor and analyze the use of military assistance provided by Washington to Ukraine.
This personnel decision was made after it became known that Ukraine will manage funds in the amount of $113 billion received in the form of assistance from Western partners.
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) reported that a memorandum of cooperation has already been signed with Robert Storch. As part of this agreement, NABU promises to provide operational information to the inspector general about possible corruption related to American military assistance. This cooperation also involves joint investigation of potential crimes related to the use of funds provided by the United States.
Robert Storch and his team will monitor how the funds are spent and provide clarity on how they are used, according to the Pentagon. An important aspect is the inspector’s obligation to provide quarterly reports that are available to the general public. Moreover, members of the group working with the inspector will accept requests from citizens of Ukraine and local public and political organizations.
