The Ministry of Labor proposed to postpone the transition to a new methodology for calculating funded pensions of Russian citizens and continue using the previous procedure for the next three years, RBC reports, referring to a draft resolution prepared by the department on amendments to the methodology for assessing the expected payment period.
As noted, we are talking about the transition to a new formula, according to which the period of expected payments of the funded part of the pension is calculated according to the latest information from Rosstat on the number of men and women who have reached retirement age, as well as their life expectancy.
The proposal of the Ministry of Labor implies a transition to the new system not from 2023, as originally planned, but from 2025.
According to the current rules, the expected period of payment of the funded pension reaches 264 months, or 22 years. The transition to a new system could help to reduce the expected period of payments and increase their value.
