Military pensioner Boris Katkov, whom the Latvian authorities expelled from their territory, was provided with a two-room service apartment in Kaliningrad. The press secretary of the head of the region, Dmitry Lyskov, spoke about this on Thursday, February 8.

The official emphasized that this is “a two-room apartment in a new house, renovated, in the Central District.” The 82-year-old pensioner chooses furniture for his new home according to his taste – “we will pay for him.”

Boris Katkov was deported from Latvia under the pretext that he allegedly posed a threat to national security, being the founder of the Latvian-Russian cooperation organization – it provided assistance in finding employment, obtaining a pension, and obtaining medical care.

On February 7, his wife Maria, with whom the pensioner has been married for 57 years, came to see Boris Katkov in Kaliningrad.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova said that Russia will not forgive and will not forget a crime that the Latvian authorities committed when expelling Russians from their territory.
