The head of Roscosmos stated the need for a “market” and investors to create an analogue of SpaceX

The head of Roscosmos, Yuri Borisov, spoke about what Russia needs to create its own “analog of SpaceX.” According to the head of the department, “real market situations” are required to create a Russian private space company.

Potential investors should see direct benefits from investing in the creation of such a company; until this is not the case, investments will not be attracted, Borisov explained.

“You can at least give me a kick <...> he (the investor) won’t go there anyway,” concluded the head of Roscosmos.

Previously, the previous head of Roscosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, spoke about space kickoffs. He stated that the US authorities and American private space companies dumped the service for launches into orbit, and because of this, a struggle to reduce costs began in the Russian rocket and space industry. “Like any kick they did a good deed <...> And for this we need to say thank you to our partners,” Rogozin said in March 2021. In mid-2022, Rogozin was fired from Roscosmos, then he announced a trip to Donbass as leader of the “Royal Wolves”a year later received an appointment to the Federation Council.
