The Platon system provides for the collection, processing, storage and automatic transmission of data on the movement of trucks weighing over 12 tons and applies to all public roads of federal significance.
The press service of the Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor) clarified that the actual amount of the fee is calculated annually from January 10 to January 20, taking into account Rosstat data on the consumer price index for the past year.
The change in the consumer price index for 2022 amounted to +11.94%, the agency noted. Thus, the indexation of fees in the Platon system is carried out below the value predicted in July 2022.
According to Rosavtodor, over 763 thousand cargo carriers and more than 1 million 729 thousand vehicles weighing more than 12 tons are currently registered with Platon, a quarter of which belong to foreign logistics companies.
The indexation of the tariff of the state system “Platon” has been carried out since 2019 and takes into account the program for the predictability of changes in the amount of fees worked out by the Ministry of Transport together with freight carriers. Due to fees collected through the state system, the Federal Road Fund received more than 199 billion rubles.
