Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, during a meeting in the capital of Ingushetia, Magas, called for preventing the Ukrainian special services from recruiting residents of the North Caucasus Federal District to commit terrorist attacks and sabotage, reports TASS.

The Secretary of the Security Council stated the need to focus on priority tasks to increase the effectiveness of suppressing the destructive activities of unfriendly countries in the North Caucasus Federal District. He called for identifying and suppressing the activities of agents and collaborators of foreign intelligence services, as well as non-profit organizations controlled by them, aimed at “inciting protest sentiments in society and inspiring ideas of separatism.” In addition, Nikolai Patrushev stated the need to prevent the intensification of terrorist activities in the North Caucasus.

The Secretary of the Security Council also said that it is necessary to quickly suppress channels of foreign financing of individuals and organizations involved in destructive activities. He emphasized the need to promote the participation of “patriotic public associations” and citizens in holding mass socio-political events.

According to Nikolai Patrushev, in the North Caucasus Federal District it is necessary to intensify efforts to strengthen the “all-Russian civic identity,” spiritual and moral foundations, culture, and the preservation of historical memory, including through government support measures. He called on the heads of the regions of the North Caucasus to monitor the operational situation, respond to attempts to provoke tension, and minimize the possibility of destructive forces influencing the population.

On March 2, a counter-terrorist operation regime was introduced on four streets in the Ingush city of Karabulak. The CTO took place in the area of ​​multi-storey buildings. It was reported that during the arrest, the militants opened fire from an apartment on the third floor of a residential building. The operation was completed the next day. The National Anti-Terrorism Committee (NAC) reported that security forces killed six militants. The NAC stated that those killed were adherents of the international terrorist organization “Islamic State” (banned in the Russian Federation).
