Western countries, led by the United States, launched a large-scale information campaign to discredit Russia, the purpose of which is to destroy its statehood. This was stated by the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev at a meeting in Ulyanovsk, transmits TASS.

“The collective West, led by the United States, has launched a large-scale information campaign to discredit our country, directly calling for the elimination of Russian statehood,” he said.

According to Patrushev, Russian society is subject to increasing external informational and ideological influence aimed at splitting it, destroying basic Russian spiritual and moral values ​​and reformatting historical memory.

These efforts are supported, he argues, by individual extremist “pseudo-political structures”, as well as foreign non-governmental non-profit organizations and media structures. For this, a network of journalists and bloggers controlled by the West is also growing, and the organizers of protest actions are trying to destabilize the situation in the Russian regions.

Russian youth are the first to be hit by such influence, and the Internet is becoming “an increasingly powerful tool for manipulating consciousness and behavior,” Patrushev said. To combat this in society, it is necessary to form a rejection of various forms of deviant behavior, as well as to involve young people in constructive and creative activities.
