Patrushev announced a radioactive cloud moving towards Europe

A radioactive cloud is moving towards Europe, which appeared due to the destruction of ammunition with depleted uranium, which the UK had previously supplied to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was stated by Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev.

“(USA) Ukraine was also ‘helped’ – they put pressure on their satellites and supplied ammunition with depleted uranium. Their destruction led to the fact that the radioactive cloud headed towards Western Europe,” leads his words “Interfax”.

The increase in background radiation has already been recorded, says Patrushev, in Poland.

The press service of Rospotrebnadzor, in turn, told Vedomosti that the radiation situation in Russia remains stable.

May 14 Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported about striking at warehouses with ammunition received for the Armed Forces of Ukraine from Western countries near Ternopil. May 15, head of the Ternopil regional administration Volodymyr Trush refuted media reports that there were depleted uranium shells in the warehouses.

“Exceeding the background radiation has not been recorded. The situation is under the control of Rospotrebnadzor,” they said.

At the end of March, it became known about London’s plans to supply the Armed Forces with depleted uranium shells for Challenger 2 tanks. After that, the UN expressed “concern for years about any use of depleted uranium, taking into account the consequences of such use” and “this applies to anyone who supplies such weapons. Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, in turn warned about the colossal damage to the agro-industrial complex of Ukraine, which will be caused by the use of such shells.

On April 25, British Deputy Defense Minister James Hippie announced that the UK had already sent thousands of rounds for the Challenger 2 tanks, including those with depleted uranium, to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. However, London does not know where Kyiv will use these shells, since they are now under the control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Hippie stressed.

Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that Russia would be forced to respond to deliveries of depleted uranium shells to Ukraine. According to him, this decision demonstrates the willingness of the West to fight Russia to the last Ukrainian, not in words but in deeds.
