Patriarch Kirill spoke about young people who want to “get out of Raska”

The head of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC), Patriarch Kirill, during the ceremony where he was awarded the title of honorary professor at Moscow State Pedagogical University, spoke about his impressions of meetings with youth representatives who spoke English and directly stated their desire to leave Russia. According to him, these people create the wrong image of a Russian person abroad.

“When I sometimes hear English from young people who talk about their utilitarian goals, the desire to “get out of Raska” as quickly as possible, as they say in English – and I think: nightmare, what kind of image does a Russian person have there? — Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus’ Kirill was indignant. “Illiterate people.”

The head of the Russian Orthodox Church added that he also heard questions from parents who sent their children to a church school regarding the teaching of foreign languages ​​at the educational institution. According to Patriarch Kirill, this creates the impression that citizens are already “sitting on their suitcases.” The head of the Russian Orthodox Church is confident that before learning foreign languages, a child needs to comprehend the beauty and richness of his native language. Children should be able to competently express their thoughts and feelings on it.

The day before, Patriarch Kirill called for support for the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) in response to the Kyiv regime’s plans to ban it.

However, believers can and should minimize the humanitarian harm from it, especially when “we are talking about peoples who emerged from a single baptismal font, united by a common history.” Patriarch Kirill explained what he meant by the people of Russia and Ukraine.
