Patriarch Kirill prayed for a speedy recovery of film director Mikhalkov

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ gave Nikita Mikhalkov a prosphora (bread used in the sacrament of communion). He also prayed for the film director’s health at the liturgy, the Moscow Patriarchate reported.
“His Holiness gave Nikita Sergeevich a holy prosphora to the hospital, from which a particle about his health was taken out,” wrote Vladimir Legoyda, chairman of the synodal department for relations between the church, society and the media of the Moscow Patriarchate.
Legoyda noted in his telegram channel that he personally spoke with Mikhalkov by phone. “He warmly thanked the patriarch for his prayers and attention,” wrote the head of the synodal department. “And thanked everyone who is praying for his speedy recovery.”
On January 5, film director Nikita Mikhalkov was hospitalized with suspected influenza. Since the news about this appeared in the media and telegram channels appeared various conflicting information about the diagnosis and course of the disease.
