Patriarch Kirill expressed his condolences on the death of a Shuya priest in the Northern Military District

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ sent his condolences to the Shuya diocese in connection with the death of a resident of the Nikolo-Shartomsky monastery, Hieromonk Damaskin, in the NVO.
“With deep sorrow I received the news of the death of Hieromonk Damaskin (Volin),” says the appeal of His Holiness the Patriarch to Bishop Matthew of Shuisky and Teikovsky. Father Damaskin was the head of the department for interaction with the Cossacks of the Shuya diocese. He also headed the Cossack detachment at the monastery boarding school, was actively engaged in search activities.
The priest, as noted by His Holiness, remained faithful to his pastoral duty, not sparing “his soul even to death.”
Hieromonk Damaskin died, as previously reported, carrying the wounded from the battlefield near Artemovsk.
