Patriarch Kirill declared humanity’s inability to live without wars

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ expressed regret that humanity is not able to live without war. He added that believers can and should minimize the humanitarian harm from it. The head of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC) announced this at a meeting with participants of the “Faith and Word” festival in the hall of church councils of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior on Thursday, October 19.
“Unfortunately, we have to say that humanity seems to be unable to live without war – such is the fallen nature of man,” said Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’. “But we can and must minimize the humanitarian harm from military actions if these actions have begun, especially when we are talking about peoples who emerged from a single baptismal font, united by a common history – I mean the people of Russia and Ukraine.”
Previously “MK” reported, that Patriarch Kirill called the appearance of nuclear weapons in the Soviet Union by God’s providence. He noticed that this happened in the monastery of Seraphim of Sarov. In addition, as the Soyuz TV channel reported in its story, the head of the Russian Orthodox Church awarded the Order of St. Sergius of Radonezh, 1st degree, to a physicist from Sarov. Patriarch Kirill expressed words of gratitude to him for supporting church initiatives and for significant discoveries in the field of physics.
