Patriarch Kirill called for teaching the basics of Orthodox culture to migrant children

Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Rus’ called on migrant children to teach the basics of Orthodox culture in Russian schools. He is confident that this will become a unifying principle and an important way of integration in our country.

In large Russian cities, as he pointed out, there are many schools where many children study for whom Russian is not their native language. At the same time, he is sure that among the visitors there are many who respect our people, as well as culture and traditions.

Patriarch Kirill hears statements from parents and “even some representatives of the clergy of other religions” about the importance of teaching the basics of Orthodox culture to migrant children. Speaking at the Kremlin Palace as part of the International Christmas Educational Readings, he called this an important way of integration for both children and their families.
