Pasler called the situation in Orsk after the dam break difficult – Kommersant

In the old part of the city of Orsk, where a dam broke the day before, a difficult situation has developed, said the governor of the Orenburg region, Denis Pasler. According to experts, the dam project is “designed for a different load, much smaller,” and the current flood is an exception.

Mr. Pasler announced that he had decided to double all payments to victims. One-time payments will amount to 20 thousand rubles. per person, in case of loss of property – from 50 thousand to 100 thousand rubles. He also said that the creation of long-stay centers is being discussed. According to him, “it is clear that in the coming days people will not be able to return to their homes.”

“Evacuation is a necessary measure. All conditions have been created at temporary accommodation centers… I gave the corresponding instructions – within two hours to additionally supply TAPs (temporary accommodation points) with everything necessary,” the governor wrote in Telegram following the meeting.
