The ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh is generally observed. This statement was made by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan during his speech to his fellow citizens.

“The information that Azerbaijani troops are in Stepanakert is not true. There was an incident in the vicinity of Stepanakert, but the ceasefire generally remains,” he said (quote according to TASS).

Earlier today, a number of Armenian media reported that Azerbaijan had violated the ceasefire agreement and resumed shelling of Stepanakert. The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan has this information refuted.

On September 19, Azerbaijan announced the start of “anti-terrorist measures” of a local nature, necessary for the “restoration of the constitutional order” in Nagorno-Karabakh. The Russian Foreign Ministry called to “immediately stop the bloodshed” and return to the implementation of trilateral agreements.

The Kremlin previously emphasized that Russian peacekeepers continue to perform their functions in the region. On September 20, the unrecognized republic announced the conclusion of agreements on a complete ceasefire and disarmament of troops with the participation of Russian peacekeepers.

On September 21, negotiations were held in Yevlakh between the delegation of the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh and representatives of the Azerbaijani authorities. Representatives of the Armenian population of Nagorno-Karabakh were accompanied by Russian peacekeepers. “Sputnik Azerbaijan” with reference to the statement of the presidential administration of Azerbaijan writesthat Baku handed over a reintegration plan to representatives of the Armenian delegation.
