Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan: meeting with Azerbaijani President Aliyev in Brussels was fruitless
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at a government meeting on Thursday that his meeting with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, which took place on July 15 in Brussels, turned out to be fruitless.
Pashinyan noted that on July 15 he took part in a trilateral meeting with Azerbaijani leader Aliyev and head of the European Council Charles Michel. According to the Armenian prime minister, the meeting did not give any concrete results on the issue of opening the Lachin corridor and overcoming the humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh.
The head of the Armenian government stressed that without international involvement, the dialogue between Baku and Stepanakert cannot be effective. The prime minister added that the Azerbaijani side continues the rhetoric of threats against the Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh, pointing out that the deep goal of this rhetoric is the implementation of “ethnic cleansing” in the region.
