Participants of the Innoprom exhibition discussed the impact of industrial design on the economy

The round table “PROMdesign – new opportunities for industrial development” was held as part of the Innoprom International Industrial Exhibition. The participants discussed the role of design in the development of the industry. Details were provided by Daria Stepanova, Deputy Head of the Department for Investment and Industrial Policy of Moscow.
She noted the key role of industrial design in optimizing production processes. “It creates aesthetically pleasing and functional products that have a competitive edge in the marketplace. At the same time, industrial design helps manufacturers reduce development and production costs,” the official said.
The round table was also attended by First Deputy Minister of Industry, Trade and Entrepreneurship of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Vladimir Balakin, Director of the Department of Industry of the Khanty-Mansiysk Okrug – Yugra Kirill Zaitsev, Chief Designer of Transmashholding JSC Evgeny Maslov and Director of the Department of Industry of the Ministry of Economic Development and Industry of the Ulyanovsk Region Dina Stepanova.
The other day, Moscow Mayor Sergey established the Best Industrial Design of Russia award, which popularizes industrial design among manufacturing enterprises. The award ceremony is scheduled for the end of August. At SPIEF 2023, Sergei Sobyanin, Denis Manturov and Minister of Culture Olga Lyubimova signed a Memorandum on the development of the Industrial Design educational area.
