Maxim Parshin, who is charged with taking a bribe, has been relieved of his post as Deputy Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation. The corresponding order of the Cabinet of Ministers signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin was published on Friday, July 21.
According to the wording specified in the document, Parshin was relieved of his post at his own request.
The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation asked to send the person involved in the large-scale bribe case to a pre-trial detention center, but the court decided to place Parshin under house arrest until September 12.
State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein said that Parshin was detained the day before “with red-handed while receiving a bribe of 3.5 million.” In what currency was the indicated amount, the deputy did not specify.
