Parliamentary parties select candidates for elections in new territories

All four parties represented in the State Duma (KPRF, LDPR, New People, A Just Russia) plan to participate in the elections of deputies to the parliaments of the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. As Vedomosti wrote earlier, the presidential administration has not yet abandoned the idea of ​​holding elections there in September, but martial law must be lifted for this. The parties, meanwhile, are already negotiating with potential candidates. Before the start of the election campaign, political forces plan to create regional branches in all new regions (now party cells do not function everywhere) in order to nominate their representatives for the elections.

People’s Artist of Russia Nikolai Burlyaev and Honored Artist of the RSFSR Elena Drapeko, who are members of the party faction in the State Duma, as well as People’s Artist of Russia Vladimir Steklov, could head the lists of A Just Russia in the new territories, their fellow party member, first deputy chairman of the Duma faction Dmitry Gusev told Vedomosti. . He drew attention to the fact that all three are “actively working” in the DPR, LPR and Zaporozhye region, and Drapeko heads the regional branch of the party in Donetsk. “So in this case, everything is logical,” Gusev explained. The press service of A Just Russia told Vedomosti that the party would “take the maximum part in all scheduled elections” in the new territories. “We will focus on local personnel, of course, including participants in the special operation, humanitarian workers, military correspondents,” party senator Sergei Bezdenezhnykh told Vedomosti.
