Parliamentary hearings on the ban and regulation of vapes in Russia may be held in the State Duma as early as late February or early March, and their preparation will be discussed by legislators on February 8 in the format of a working group. This was reported by sources in the Duma, close to the course of the discussion.
The day before, State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin instructed relevant committees to make proposals for a potential ban on vapes due to their growing popularity among minors.
The deputies intend to discuss the development of legislative initiatives and holding parliamentary hearings on this topic on February 8 during a joint meeting of the inter-factional working group on protecting the health of Russians with the formed working group on the regulation of vapes, as well as representatives of relevant committees, the source added.
