Chechen parliamentarians proposed to supplement the title of the post of head of the republic Ramzan Kadyrov in the Chechen language. They plan to add the phrase “mekhkan da”, which means the highest official of the republic.
At the same time, some media translated it as “father of the people.” According to the Chechen Minister for National Policy, Foreign Relations, Press and Information Akhmed Dudayev, the media, by distorting the translation of this phrase, are trying to convey negative meanings to this legislative initiative.
