“We, the wives of the mobilized guys, sent parcels to SVO half a month ago, but they spent all this time being sorted at Russian Post – we track them using the track number. On Thursday, September 21, we came to the Main Post Office on Lenin, where we were frankly told that all the men at the sorting point had quit because of low salaries, and only women could not cope with such a flow, there was no one to sort. And it is unknown when the parcels will be sent,” said the publication’s interlocutor.

According to the woman, when asked why the post offices were not informed about this problem, she was told that the Trans-Baikal branch of Russian Post decided to purposefully accumulate parcels in order to “visually show the problem to Moscow.” “And now we’ve saved up, we send photos all the time,” the publication’s interlocutor reports. According to the woman, Russian Post employees are trying to boycott work in this way so that their salaries will be increased. Chita.Ru’s interlocutor stated that she sent six parcels by mail at once, all of which were stuck at the sorting point.

The press service of the Russian Post branch told the publication that the slowdown in mail processing was caused by the fact that several employees are now on planned vacations and on sick leave, and there are open vacancies. “So we brought in additional staff and announced in advance, in September, a recruitment of sorters for the high season, which usually starts in November. We already have five potential candidates who are ready to go to work in the coming days. These measures will help significantly speed up mail processing,” the press service said.
