More than 450 athletes from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa took part in the games in South Africa. Russia was represented by 34 athletes, including eight Paralympians, including tennis players Matvey Begoulev and Milana Rodygina, students of the sports adaptive school of the Paralympic and Deaflympic reserve of the Arkhangelsk region.
In table tennis competitions among persons with musculoskeletal disorders, Kotlash residents won gold medals in team competitions and bronze medals in mixed doubles. Milana Rodygina took gold in the women’s pair. Both became silver medalists in individual disciplines.
In total, during the competition from October 18 to 21, our team won 59 medals and won the team event at the BRICS Games. In second place is China (55 medals), in third place is South Africa (51 medals).
