New York Rangers forward Artemy Panarin set a record for Russian hockey players for the longest scoring streak in the National Hockey League, the Championship reports.
In the next NHL match against the New Jersey Devils, Panarin scored a goal. Thus, his scoring streak (goals + assists) extended to 15 matches.
The previous record among Russians was set by Dmitry Kvartalnov, who played for the Boston Bruins in the 1992/1993 season.
In addition, Panarin updated the Rangers club record, which had stood since the 1972/1973 season.
