Pamfilova proposed to come up with a new form of voting for residents of remote areas

The head of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, believes that it is necessary to think about new forms of voting for territories with a low population density. The CEC has already prepared the relevant amendments, she did not provide details.
Mrs. Pamfilova spoke about this at the Far East Electoral Forum. “Yesterday I asked my colleagues what let’s think about… what forms of voting that will bring even more closer, make the voting system more efficient, where there is such a spread, there are very few people,” she said (quoted by RIA Novosti ).
According to the head of the CEC, it is not clear when remote electronic voting (DEV) will appear in these places, so you need to “bring the electoral process closer to those people who are scattered like this.” “We have prepared amendments that give the opportunity to vote, create extraterritorial polling stations and the right to create both commissions and ballots there, that is, we will provide for a number of measures,” Ella Pamfilova added.
The day before, she said that the DEG in the presidential elections in 2024 will be able to use only those regions that by that time have already tested this type of expression of will. According to Kommersant’s calculations, if all applications for the DEG submitted this year by regional election commissions are approved, then no more than 32 subjects, that is, about a third of their total number, will be able to vote on the Internet in the presidential elections.
Details – in the material “Kommersant” “Only old people go to the DEG”.
