Palestinian Red Crescent says new strikes near Al-Quds hospital

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said Israeli airstrikes were continuing against the area around Al-Quds Hospital in northern Gaza.
A statement published on the organization’s page on the social network X (formerly known as Twitter) noted that the military is continuously carrying out artillery and air strikes in the area where the Al-Quds Hospital is located in Gaza. The text also indicates that the building is shaking and the refugees and staff are experiencing fear and panic.
Earlier, the Red Crescent reported that the Israeli army was deliberately shelling the building of a medical facility in order to force staff, displaced persons and patients to leave the hospital. A spokesman for the organization’s leadership, Abdel Aziz Abu Aisha, said that it was impossible to evacuate 12,000 displaced people and more than 400 patients, including women and children, without risking their lives.
UN representatives expressed a similar opinion, noting that the evacuation of patients from hospitals in the Gaza Strip, including Al-Quds Hospital, cannot be carried out. They stressed that it was impossible to evacuate patients from a conflict zone without endangering their lives, and that hospitals must be protected by international law. The official representative of the UN Secretary General, Stephane Dujarric, warned about this.
The situation in the Middle East worsened after the infiltration of Palestinian Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip into Israeli territory on October 7. This was accompanied by massacres of residents of border settlements and the taking of hostages, including children, women and the elderly. The radicals justified the attack as a response to the actions of the Israeli authorities against the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. In response, Israel declared a complete blockade of Gaza, launched ground operations in the strip and carried out retaliatory strikes against Hamas targets in the enclave, as well as in parts of Lebanon and Syria. Clashes also occur in the West Bank.
