Palestinian Ambassador: The conflict could spread to other countries in the Middle East

The Palestinian Ambassador to Vienna, Salah Abdel Shafi, expressed his opinion about the possibility of expanding the Palestinian-Israeli conflict to other countries in the Middle East. In an interview with RIA Novosti, the diplomat emphasized that such a scenario cannot be excluded. He noted that there is a tense situation on the border with Lebanon between Israel and Hezbollah.
The ambassador also pointed to incidents in the Red Sea, where shipping traffic has been slowed by attacks by Yemen’s Houthis on ships heading towards Israel. This fact, in his opinion, indicates the potential danger posed by the conflict and the possibility of new hostilities igniting in the region.
Summing up his statement, the diplomat stressed that the expansion of the conflict could become a reality if negotiations and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip are not achieved in the near future.
