More than 400 thousand people in Russia were left without electricity supply, reported press service Ministry of Energy. According to the department, the cause was unfavorable weather conditions: snowfall, freezing rain and ice and frost deposits.
At 11:00 Moscow time, approximately 100 thousand people were left without electricity in the Rostov region. There are 80 thousand consumers in Dagestan. In the LPR, more than 120 thousand people are without electricity (the maximum outages since the evening of December 11 amounted to almost 201 thousand people). On the territory of the DPR, 106.5 thousand people in 258 settlements remain without power. In the Pskov region, outages affected about 8 thousand consumers.
The message states that work to restore power supply is ongoing, but in some places it is interrupted due to weather conditions, as it is necessary to ensure the safety of personnel.
Earlier weather forecasters warned about the Mediterranean cyclone “Vanya”, which will bring record snowfalls to the capital and the Moscow region.
