More than 150 young athletes took part in the modern pentathlon championship. So, boys and girls aged 11-18 competed in the disciplines of quadrathlon, triathlon and biathlon. The tournament was held on the basis of the sports complex training halls “Champion”, “Swimming Center” and the stadium “Kuban”. Athletes represented the Kuban capital, Stavropol, Anapa and KBR.
According to the results, all awards of the highest standard went to the Krasnodar pentathletes. So, in the piggy bank of the guys – 8 gold medals, 6 silver and 8 bronze. The winners and prize-winners of the tournament entered the regional triathlon team to participate in the championship of the Russian Federation.
Boris Tikhonenko, Director of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports, said that this is an excellent outcome for Krasnodar. According to him, behind such an excellent result is a lot of work in training, scheduling loads by the coach and a large number of different factors. The mentors were able to plan the training process in such a way that the Krasnodar juniors did not leave their opponents a chance.
Earlier, “MK in the Kuban” wrote that in the regional center from March 24 to March 26, a tennis tournament was held. 48 boys and girls aged 9-10 took part in the competition.
