Over 11 thousand runners from 16 countries of the world will come to the Kazan Marathon

At the end of last year, registration for the Kazan Marathon started. During this time, more than 11 thousand people have applied for participation in it. According to the organizers of the event, there could be more of them, but due to the change in dates, a number of athletes canceled their registration.
“The participants originally planned to arrive at the same time, but we had to move. Nevertheless, this year we are going with an increase compared to the previous one,” Vadim Yangirov, general director of the Kazan Marathon, commented on the situation.
Initially, the date of the “Kazan Marathon” was called May 20 and 21. Later, the sports festival was moved to May 27 and 28.
Athletes from 16 countries of the world and 96 regions of Russia will become its participants.
Most of the athletes at the moment declared themselves at a distance of 10 kilometers. In second place in popularity among runners is the half marathon race.
Participants will run along the embankment, the Lenin Dam and the Millennium Bridge.
By the way, starting from 2022, instead of paper cups, runners receive water in special plastic bottles, which are then sent for recycling.
