Ovechkin became a Russian who played 1,400 games in the NHL
Alexander Ovechkin, who plays in the NHL for the Washington Capitals club, set another record, becoming the first Russian to play 1,400 games in the NHL.
This happened in a regular season match of the National Hockey Line (NHL) against the Florida Panthers. Second place goes to Alexey Kovalev (1316).
Alexander has been playing for the Washington club since 2005, during which time he won the Stanley Cup once (2018). He has 16 goals and 26 assists in 53 games this season, trailing NHL leading scorer Wayne Gretzky by 56 goals.
