Russian Washington Capitals forward Alexander Ovechkin has scored more goals in the NHL over the past 15 years than any other player, according to Sportsnet Stats on Twitter.
Since 2008, the Russian has scored 646 goals. His closest pursuer was Tampa Bay Lightning forward Steven Stamkos with 499 goals.
In total, Ovechkin has 809 goals in the NHL. He is the second-best scorer in league history, behind only Wayne Gretzky, who has 894 goals.
This season Alexander has scored 29 goals in 44 matches.
