Ovchinsky spoke about the modernization of oil storage facilities at Moscow Oil Refinery

The oil storage facilities belonging to the Moscow oil refinery have begun to be modernized. On the territory of the capital, a fleet of tanks will be updated, in which raw materials and finished products are stored.
“The program to upgrade the oil storage facility at the Moscow refinery will improve the infrastructure of the entire storage system and replace more than 40 technological facilities,” said Vladislav Ovchinsky, head of the Investment and Industrial Policy Department.
To date, the enterprise has updated 80% of process units, modernized the complex for shipping fuel to road and rail transport.
Now the main stage of construction and installation works of the first tanks, which will appear instead of obsolete tanks for fuel oil, is being completed. The new designs are completely hermetic, so the ingress of oil vapors into the atmosphere is excluded. For this purpose, the bodies of the objects were made of special steel with an anti-corrosion coating. Such material is resistant to temperature changes, it does not crack. In addition, the tanks will be equipped with modern monitoring systems, fire and emergency protection systems. Note that the materials and equipment are made in Russia.
According to Vitaly Zuber, General Director of the Moscow Oil Refinery, after modernization in 2025, the Moscow Oil Refinery will switch to deep oil refining. It will make it possible to obtain additional volumes of gasoline and diesel fuel from oil residues.
