The outbreak of meningococcal infection in the Sverdlovsk region is localized. This was announced by the Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko, reports TASS. According to him, there is no risk of an outbreak of infection on the territory of the Russian Federation.
As Mikhail Murashko said, 16 people are now under medical supervision. Their condition is assessed as satisfactory, as they turned to doctors in time and received the necessary therapy to prevent the development of a more severe course of the disease. “Therefore, today the outbreak is localized and patients are on the mend,” he said.
At the Ozon distribution center in Yekaterinburg happened an outbreak of meningococcal disease that killed two people. A mask regime was introduced at the warehouse, the temperature of employees at the entrance is measured, and surfaces are treated with an antiseptic.
As of July 9, more than 900 people working at the Ozon distribution center and at the Uralkhimmash plant received vaccinations against the infection (the factory workers lived with Ozon employees in the same hostel).
