LE FIGARO. – The apprentice training centers (CFA) criticize the cut of 800 million on their funding, in particular in trades in shortage. How to justify this saving, which seems contradictory with the objective of eventually increasing the number of apprentices to 1 million?
Carole GRANDJEAN. – Thanks to the apprenticeship reform of 2018, we have gone from less than 300,000 apprentices to more than 700,000. We freed up the creation of CFAs, entrusted the management responsibility to the branches and enabled more than 1 million young people to find sustainable employment more quickly thanks to quality training. Apprenticeship is now supported in two ways: a hiring bonus paid by the State to employers, extended until December 31, and a subsidy to CFAs depending on the training offered.
