One “bronze” was on the account of Russian athletes following the results of the World Championship held by the International Esports Federation in Indonesia.
The prize-winning place went to the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive category, where eight victories and two defeats were won. The team included Vladimir Karelin, Evgeny Mitsik, Dmitry Kutov and Denis Sklenin. For third place, esportsmen will receive $20,000.
In the disciplines of Dota 2, Tekken and eFootball, the Russians, who played in a neutral status, failed to win awards.
As reported, at the general meeting of the International Esports Federation, the issue of allowing the Russians to perform with national symbols was considered. 19 votes were cast for it, 21 against, and 29 more members of the federation abstained. At the same time, the meeting expressed condemnation of the decision of the European Esports Federation regarding the removal of our athletes from continental competitions. There was also a call not to use sport as a political tool.
