The head of the State Duma Committee on Family, Women and Children, Nina Ostanina, announced her intention to appeal to the Investigative Committee of Russia (ICR) because of a video in which blogger Sergei Kosenko allegedly throws his two-month-old son into a snowdrift.
A video of a child thrown into the snow was published on Sergei Kosenko’s Instagram page (owned by Meta, an extremist organization banned in the Russian Federation) on January 7. Over the course of a day, more than 10 thousand comments appeared under the publication. Most users criticized the blogger for such an act. After this, Sergei Kosenko wrote under the video: “Did anyone really believe that I would throw my own son into the snow?” In the blogger’s story, there was also a poll about who participated in the filming: “doll” or “not a doll.”
In his Telegram– channel Nina Ostanina reposted the publication of Komsomolskaya Pravda with the information that “a well-known information gypsy threw his two-month-old son into a snowdrift for the sake of likes, and the excuse that it was actually a doll was not accepted by the audience.” The deputy emphasized that even if Sergei Kosenko threw a doll with “opening eyes,” then “it is obvious that he offered his subscribers a cannibalistic model of behavior.” “I consider Kosenko’s act not only immoral, but also criminal, and I will contact the Russian Investigative Committee with a corresponding statement,” wrote Ms. Ostanina.
The head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina, also drew attention to Sergei Kosenko’s publication. “Two questions arise. The first is the health and safety of the child. The second is a clearly staged video. Whoever came up with this did not realize that it attacks universal human values and destroys the ideals of reverent treatment of children since the birth of the baby Jesus. Recently, content creators are ready to do anything for the sake of hype, without thinking about their responsibility to the audience,” she wrote in Telegram-channel. In addition, Ekaterina Mizulina indicated that with his video Sergei Kosenko “reminded everyone of his existence, including, probably, the tax authorities.”
Sergei Kosenko is 36 years old. His Instagram profile has more than 6.9 million followers.
