Oryol residents will show their skills at the “Defenders of the Fatherland Cup”

This year, Oryol veterans of the Northern Military District will take part in the third interregional tournament “Cup of Defenders of the Fatherland.” More than 200 athletes from 28 regions of the Central and Northwestern Federal Districts will gather in Kaluga from February 21 to 24 to participate in the competition. This was reported by the press service of the regional government.
The Oryol region will be represented at the competition by Alexei Kelmescu, Grigory Kuntsev and Ruslan Kupreev, who will compete in bullet shooting and archery.
It should be noted that the tournament was organized with the participation of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation, the Russian Paralympic Committee, the Government of the Kaluga Region and the All-Russian Sports Federation for Persons with Musculoskeletal Disabilities. Veterans will compete in a variety of sports including shooting, arm wrestling, powerlifting, table tennis and sitting volleyball.
The grand opening of the tournament is scheduled for February 22. During the competition period, master classes from Paralympic champions will also be held. In addition, as part of the tournament, a creative festival will be held with the participation of veterans and members of their families. The “Defenders of the Fatherland Cup” will end with an award ceremony and closing ceremony.
