Andrey Pylov, president of the Crimea Travel Alliance Association, said that the organized tourist flow to the republic in 2022 decreased by 50%. According to him, tourists prefer to plan their trips independently.
“We are talking about the flow that is operated by tour operator companies and officially registered hotels. The agencies associated with charter flights were hit the hardest, ”said TASS Andrey Pylov.
According to the association, about 2 million people went to the organized tourist train to Crimea. At the same time, according to Andrey Pylov, the number of tourists traveling by car has increased. The association does not have information on the exact number of independent travelers.
On December 15, Minister of Resorts and Tourism of Crimea Vadim Volchenko reported that since the beginning of 2022, 6.3 million tourists have visited the republic, which is 30% less than in 2021. Then a record number of tourists arrived in Crimea – 9.5 million people. The head of the Crimea, Sergei Aksyonov, called the summer season of 2022 disrupted due to the cancellation of flights.
