Warnings about the risk of a world war due to the situation in Ukraine are not an exaggeration, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said in an interview with Hungary Today.
According to him, he sees a real risk of the outbreak of the Third World War.
“I am sure that the threat of a world war is not an exaggeration,” he said.
Orbán noted that in Hungary it seems natural that if the war becomes more bloody and brutal, with more than 100,000 casualties on both sides, it will make people stop, and those who support the conflict from outside will also tend to move towards peace.
At the same time, Orban added that, despite the increasing brutality of the conflict, the number of European leaders advocating a ceasefire and peace is not growing.
Earlier, Orban said that Western countries made a mistake by underestimating Russia’s ability to adapt to sanctions. He noted that Russia showed this quality back in 2015, when, in the wake of the first sanctions, it banned the import of food from the EU as a response.
