There is now a real risk of starting a third world war, said Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
“When European and American leaders say that if this situation around Ukraine continues, then we can come to a third world war, then at first glance it may sound incredible and exaggerated. But it seems to me that this is a real danger at the moment, ”he said (quote by Interfax).
According to him, Western countries, by supplying weapons to Ukraine, pose a threat of drawing other countries into the conflict.
At the end of January, Orban said that Hungary was watching with concern the supply of arms to Ukraine and was afraid that some of the EU countries would send troops there. Budapest also supported China’s plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
The Russian authorities have repeatedly criticized the supply of Western weapons to the Ukrainian army. In particular, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Zakharova, warned that pumping Ukraine with weapons brings NATO closer to the dangerous line of a direct military clash with Russia.
