“Orange” level of weather danger in Moscow extended due to frost

The penultimate, “orange” level of weather danger continues to operate in the capital region. It means that there is a possibility of natural disasters and damage due to adverse weather conditions.
In Moscow and the Moscow region, a warning was introduced due to abnormally frosty weather – the temperature in the capital is 7-10 degrees, and in the Moscow region 7-14 degrees below the climate norm. The warning period has been extended until 21:00 Saturday, December 9.
In addition, there is a “yellow” level of weather danger due to icy conditions, as follows from the forecast warning map on the official website of the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation.
Moreover, on December 8, the strength of disturbances on the Sun will fluctuate between 1–3 points all day, in the afternoon geomagnetic activity will continue to rise to 2 points, then drop to 1 point. Astrophysicists consider such a magnetosphere to be quiet.
Earlier, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, said that the upcoming New Year, Moscow residents meet with snow. He noted that snow cover will remain in the capital in the coming months, but something more specific about the weather conditions cannot yet be said.
